BC Alpine announces J1 Development Program for 08 2007/05/15

Four athletes from Big White have been named to participate with Derek Trussler acting as the FIS Okanagan zone coach. Good Job Sarah Elliot, Jen Meyers and Ian Deans who met all criteria. Curtis Koepke has also been named as an invitee for the first camp at Whistler. If he does well he will continue on with the team. The athletes are presently heading to Whistler for testing and dryland. Here is the proposed J1 Team schedule: May 18-21 - ski testing and dryland camp at Whistler Jun 30-Jul 6 - GS camp Whistler July 22-26 - Sl camp Whistler Jul 31-Aug 5 - dryland camp location TBA Aug 21-29 - ACA J1 camp (only 4 boys/4 girls to be selected for this) Sep 1-4 - dryland camp location TBA Sep 7-14 - SG/GS/Sl camp Farnham Sep 22-Oct 6 - Chile (selection from previous camps) Nov 15-21 - Panorama late Nov-Dec 1 - TBA Dec 1-5 - ACA J1 camp (4 and 4) Dec 11-15 - Panorama pre-race camp Dec 18-21 - Mars race series There are also some in season projects such as a Jan speed camp, Feb pre PGMC camp, pre-J1 Nats camp, and the J1 Nats which are in Alberta next year.
