Big White Racers at Silver Star 2007/03/05

On March 3rd and 4th Silver Star Mountain and the Vernon Ski Club hosted the Alcan Nancy Greene Okanagan Zone Final Race. Over 370 young alpine racers aged 5 through 11 came together for this two day event with alpine clubs from Sun Peaks, Revelstoke, Harper Mountain, Silver Star, Big White, Crystal Mountain, Apex and Mount Baldy. The Kelowna Ski Club’s Big White Racers had 34 E2 racers aged 9 to 11 racing on Saturday in a challenging 2 run individual Glalom course with the following results: 9 Yr Old Girls From 30 starters: Olivia Kirby 2nd, Jayda Jurome 6th, Kelty Slaney 10th, Lauren Hale 11th, Kasia Niewinski 17th, Grace Callahan 19th & Cassidy Tomlin 26th. 10 Yr Old Girls From 25 starters: Megan Moffat 7th, Kenzie Sharko 11th, Kari McDonald 12th, Anna Polasek 14th, Rachel Webster 16th, Sophia Gupta 19th, Kylie Jack DNF, Hope Hay DNF. 11 Yr Old Girls From 14 starters: Sarah Mooney 12th. 9 Yr Old Boys From 31 starters: Evan Kwong 4th, J.J. DeJong 5th, Avery Walline 10th, Ian Johnston 20th, Mitchel Marino 21st, Shaun Taylor 25th, Andreas Bucek DSQ, Dylan Hare DSQ. 10 Yr Old Boys From 29 starters: Connor Callaghan 2nd, Tyler Shalansky 9th, Seger Nelson 10th, Aidan Gay 13th, Patrick Mooney 17th, John Gay 20th, David Norman 24th, Josh Stefance DNS 2nd run. 11 Yr Old Boys From 5 starters: Mitch Fowler 3rd, Nathan Hare 5th. On Sunday was the E1 racers aged 5 to 8 racing in a 2 run team event on a Glalom course. Teams consisted of 4 to 6 racers for a team average time. Green Category From 15 teams: Big White Racers team #4, 2nd place: Zane Torres, Michael Hudson, James Callahan, Spencer Braam, Matthew Williamson and Nathalie Kurkjian. Big White Racers Team #2, 4th place: Reid Coughlan, Austin Jack, Alanna Larter, Evan Callahan, Kieran Carter and Natalie Vandenberg. Big White Racers Team #1, 9th place: Quinn Rasmussen, Christopher Turton, Sophie Schroeder, Adam Callahan, Mitchell Sloan, (DNS Hanna Eggeling). Big White Racers Team #3, 11th place: Jessy March, Jaymie Dobranski, Gavin Newall, Jane Newall, (DNS Robbie Sullivan & Natalie Bereznicki). Blue Category From 13 teams: Big White Racers team #5, 5th place: Olivia Baldassare, Emalie Schueler, Hannah Walline, Ilana Prokop, Emily Pilon and Rachel Hare. Big White Racers Team #6, 6th place: Alexandra Przychodzki, Makena Heinrich, Lindsey Turton, Ryder McLeod, RJ Lukinuk, and Emily Polasek. Black Category From 6 teams: Big White Racers team #9, 1st place: Ryan Moffat, Brooke Lukinuk, and Cam Rasmussen, (DNS Liam McDonald).
