Big White Racers had a great time at the Revelstoke Zone Final. It was very warm and sunny on Saturday, and the E1 course was hard and icy in the morning, then softened up in the afternoon. The E2 course was icy in the morning, and held up without a reset as the sky clouded over. Everybody had a good time, the challenging course.
Here are the results for the two days:
Saturday, E1 dual glalom – two run team averaged time
There were 7 Green teams for 31 kids, 9 Blue teams for 37 kids and 3 Black teams for 15 kids; for a total of 83 E1 kids competing.
The BWR Green Team consisting of Rachel Hare, Ilana Prokop, Mackenzie Schwinghamer, Natalie Vandenberg and Hannah Walline placed 6th out of 7 teams with a team average time of 34.52.
The Blue Big White 1 Team of Barclay Desjardins, Kyle Dimsdale, Ian Johnston, Evan Kwong, and Avery Walline placed 5th out of 9 blue teams with a team average time of 26.87 seconds.
The Blue Big White 2 Team of Jakob Grafton, Dylan Hare, Alexandra Ireland, Cam Rasmussen and Shaun Taylor took 2nd place and a Silver medal with a team average time of 25.74.
The BWR Black Team of J.J. DeJong, Ryan Moffat, Olivia Kirby and Kelty Slaney placed 1st out of three black teams taking home the Gold medal. Their averaged time was 23.89.
The top three BWR E1 kids with a two run combined time were: Avery Walline, 2nd overall; Jakob Grafton, 3rd overall; Ryan Moffat 4th overall. Well done boys!
Sunday, E2 single GS – two run combined time
There were a total of 87 E2 racers competing.
There were 15 nine yr old girls competing, Megan Moffat placed 5th followed by Kari McDonald in 10th.
Of the 25 nine yr old boys competing, Connor Callaghan did well with a 4th place finish, followed by Tyler Shalansky 12th, Seger Nelson 19th, and David Norman 24th.
There were 16 ten yr old girls competing, Jocelyn Burns placed 5th, followed by Mikayla Pankratz 6th, and Natasha Remesz 9th.
Of the 18 ten yr old boys competing, Morgan Peacock place 8th, followed by Mitchell Fowler 13th, and Nathan Hare 15th.
