| The Big White Racers (BWR) is a non-profit organization which specializes in the development of young skiers and ski racers. For over 60 years, the BWR have locally coached and trained Kelowna area skiers from 6 years to 19+ to the potential of the World Cup Alpine Level. Recent club members of note are 2010 Olympian Kelsey Serwa, Aleisha Cline, and Sarah Elliot. Notable National team alumni include Olympian Gary Athans, Derek Trussler (current BWR coach), Wade Christie (current BWR coach), Dr. Ryan Oughtred, and Rick Ito. There are over 160 racers currently participating with the Big White Racers. Our club currently operates with an annual budget of $450 000 per year. All of our athletes require increased training opportunities, airfare, lodging, race fees, equipment, clothing, physiotherapy, nutritional assessment, massage, coaching support, and tutoring at home and on the road. With the help of your corporate sponsorship, our athletes will be on-track to compete at the higher levels. First on the podium or fiftieth in the pack, BWR is about developing children in a positive environment to become confident, self reliant individuals who contribute to their team, school and community.
