FAQs
1. What type of equipment can I bring? We accept all sporting equipment that is in good condition. Alpine and cross country skis, snowboards, boots, poles, ski clothing, mountain bikes, wakeboards, hockey equipment, roller blades, etc. We DO NOT accept equipment that has been poorly maintained or is a potential safety hazard. Older model straight (alpine) skis are not accepted for sale but may be donated. Our volunteers retain the right to refuse any equipment.
2. I have equipment to sell. What do I do? Bring your equipment to the New Life Vineyard Church located at 2041 Harvey Ave (behind Future Shop) on Friday, October 19th from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
3. Does it cost anything to consign my equipment? - Entrance fee is $2 per person or $5 per family - There is a $1.00 consignment ticket that must be purchased for each item that you want to sell. We only accept CASH to purchase the consignment tickets. If your equipment sells, we collect a 20% commission on the sale price of the item.
4. What kind of payment do you accept? We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, INTERAC and CASH. Also remember, we must charge HST on all sale items.
5. How do I know if my equipment has sold? Pay-out & Pick-up runs from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday October 20th. Check back at 6:00 with your consignment tag “customer copy” to see if your equipment has sold. If your item has sold, we will pay-out the value of the equipment less the 20% commission. If your equipment has not sold, our staff will take your consignment tag and return your items to you.
6. I missed the pay out time on Saturday and didn’t get back to check for my equipment. What do I do? Equipment that is left behind on Saturday becomes the property of the Kelowna Ski Club. REMEMBER THE PAY-OUT TIME IS 6:00-8:00PM ON SATURDAY, ONLY! If you cannot attend the Pay-out & Pick-up time, have someone do it for you, but they must have your consignment tag “customer copy”.
7. What else should I know? To help maintain security, we DO NOT allow any backpacks, large purses or bulky jackets/ski clothing to be worn into the SWAP. Please leave these items at home! If you insist on bringing these items, you will be asked to leave them at the door. Items left at the door are the sole responsibility of the owner. Our security staff reserves the right to check all items that are leaving the building. You can fully expect security to be doing their jobs, please respect them!
Please Note: We have numerous security people on site that work hard to ensure that equipment doesn’t go missing, however the Kelowna Ski Club cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen equipment.
