BWR World Cup Race Day Fund Raiser a Huge Success!

“I would do this day again in a heartbeat”, “I learnt more today about the proper technique of skiing than I have in years”, “This should be mandatory for every parent of a racer--- you really see first hand the dollars worth of coaching your kids get” ‘I will never ski the same again”

All comments shared from our very enthusiastic participants in the first annual World cup Wanna Be Day with our very own former Canadian World Cup Team members Gary Athans and Steve Hatch.

After enjoying a breakfast in the club cabin these parents set out to make some turns in the GS gates on Speculation.  Each participant received valuable detailed one on one coaching while being video taped.  During lunch (where they dined on a wonderful hot homemade lunch) everyone received their video analyses and more individual coaching tips.  Back on the slopes they took the feedback and applied it to the race course practicing what they had been learning.  Rounding out this fun filled day was an après party for the participants and their spouses at the Schuman home in the village centre where more videos of the day’s highlights were enjoyed over ski stories, laughs, beverages and more food.

Coach’s comments included “wow can you believe that is the same skier as this morning.” Steve and Gary both agreed there was dramatic improvements in everyone’s skiing, calling the day a huge success promising there will be a second annual next season.  Thanks to all for supporting the BWR and thanks to coaches who generously donated their time.
